Manager Information Sys UHS
Responsibilities Manage the selection, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and support of vendor supplied and in-house custom developed applications and systems that make up the Hospital Information System for all UHS hospitals and affiliates. Supervise the activities of staff including systems analysts and programmers, team leaders and individual project managers on a daily basis to monitor attainment of UHS goals. Develop and monitor UHS standards for the purchase and utilization of information technology. Develop and maintain a standardized application model for all UHS facilities. Schedule and coordinate systems software/hardware installation and maintenance tasks. Manage the maintenance and enhancements to existing custom developed and vendor provided application software including identifying, communicating, tracking and resolving problems. Develop short term and long range plans for meeting enterprise level IS goals and objectives. Evaluate and leverage existing and available tools and applications to reduce costs, improve workflows and provide solutions to the UHS enterprise. Develop and assume accountability for capital and operational budgets for IS cost centers.
BS in Computer Science or related field required. 5-6 years experience working with computer and network technology required. One additional year of education may be substituted for one year of the required experience with a maximum substitution of two years; six years of related work experience as an IT manager or supervisor may be substituted for the required education. Broad-based knowledge of computer technology, experience designing and implementing computer networks, knowledge of the IBM mainframe environment (hardware and system software) and management development training necessary.
Other Information This manager will be dedicated to the UHS Information Services Help Desk Team. This team currently handles over 1,200 customer calls per week and is expected to grow as HealthSpan is provides to all UHS clinics, all the ECU clinics and other Affiliates
