PHARMACY TECHNICIAN II
Responsibilities Receive and interpret medication orders. Prepare a 24 hour supply of medication for assigned patient areas. Deliver completed patient cassettes at designated times. Answer routine questions from hospital staff concerning pharmaceutical availability, dosage forms, standard dosage schedules, etc. Prepare and/or compound extemporaneous topical and oral products and sterile products when directed by a supervising pharmacist. Process orders and request to replenish drug supplies. Fill orders for narcotics and controlled drugs with appropriate record keeping. Communicate routinely with patients and appropriate hospital staff to insure efficient pharmacy services.
H.S. graduate with up to one year formal training or education in pharmacy technology and 3 months - 1 years experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or retail pharmacy required. One additional year of college education in pharmacy technology may be substituted for the required experience.
