Pharmacist II

Responsibilities

Providing drug information to patients and other health care professionals. Monitor patient drug regimens for appropriate dosing, indications, allergies, and recommends therapeutic alternatives. Orient new technicians and pharmacists to department operations. Assists junior level staff in performing duties. Dispense medications to inpatients, outpatients, and employees of the hospital. Check the dispensing functions performed by and coordinates the activities of technicians assigned to his work area. May function as charge individual in the absence of a supervisor. Fill orders for I.V. admixtures, chemotherapy, and total parenteral nutrition. Dispense doses, maintains inventory records and assists junior level staff with investigational drug protocols. Perform and assists junior staff in performing chart reviews for drug use audits. Responsible for delivering and documenting quality care, collecting data on routine monitors, and orienting students/junior staff to the department QA programs. Complete three major professional projects annually (may include writing newsletter articles, presenting lectures, or in-services, conducting research, etc.).

BS degree in Pharmacy or PharmD with current NC Board of Pharmacy license required. 3 months - 1 year related experience required.
