Responsibilities

Twenty-four hour accountability for Program Management and Program Planning. Initiate, monitor and/or participate in program development, implementation, evaluation and revisions. Set, implement and evaluate program goals and outcomes in alignment with PCMH mission, values, and strategic plans. Provide written policies and procedures, keep job descriptions current, and maintain other important documentation. Promote public relations to increase customer awareness of services provided. Participate in the formulation and implementation of interdisciplinary unit and divisional QI activities. Serve as change agent in department and organizational transformations. Create an environment for empowerment and continuous quality improvement.

ADN with Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare or related field required; MSN preferred. Current NC RN licensure required. Three to five years of clinical experience required with a one year requirement, two year preference in a leadership/supervisory (including Charge Nurse), or management role. One year of additional graduate education may be substituted for one year of the required experience with a maximum substitution of two years.

Children¿s Hospital, part of University Health Systems of East Carolina, uses a patient- and family-centered approach to help each child be as healthy as possible. As the only tertiary facility in eastern North Carolina designed especially for pediatric patients, we are well equipped to care for all children, from the tiniest premature infant to the high school student with a sports injury. Our 118-bed facility includes a PICU, NICU, Convalescent Newborn Unit and in-patient Pediatric Rehab unit. Our primary populations are respiratory, trauma, oncology, hematology, and gastroenterology. The culture is driven by Patient and Family-Center Care philosophy, quality and safety initiatives, and staff empowerment; won the Jackson Service Organization's national patient satisfaction ward for our 5 star pediatric service in 2005! In addition, we provide specialty educational programming such Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Emergency Nurses Pediatric Course (ENPC), and Pediatric End of Life Nursing Education Curriculum (Peds ELNEC).


In 2011, we will begin construction on a 2.5 tower addition containing a Day Medical unit, a immunocompromised ICU-capable unit, a Convalescent Newborn Unit expanding to 21 beds, radiology space, Ronald McDonald House retreat space, improved Family Resource Center, a Theater, a Gift Shop, cafe space, outside play/therapy yard, a Maternal Expressions boutique, and new lobby and patient registration/testing space.

Due to the recent promotion of the current Manager to an Administrator position, we are seeking a Pediatric Manager to join our growing team.
