Senior LIS Technical Analyst

Responsibilities

Performs analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of LIS applications which are moderately complex using vendor supplied tools and necessary coding language/programming tools. Perform system software installation and maintenance tasks on both the LIS and HIS computer platforms. Provides technical support of the LIS-HIS interfaces. Provided technical support of all lab instrument interfaces UHS wide. Provide general support and problem solving for laboratory applications/systems. Monitor quality management and improvement. Education/training of users in the functions and capabilities of hardware and software. Maintain knowledge of development tools, application in LIS and departmental process and procedures. Assist with professional development of staff through training support activities and function as a resource for LIS Computer Operator, LIS Technical Assistant and LIS Technical Analyst. Monitor trends and technological changes in the LIS computer industry in order to make recommendations for the acquisition of computer hardware and software applications. Serves as the LIS charge person when the LIS Manager is unavailable. Other duties as assigned.

Associate degree in Computer Science or related healthcare or technology field required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Four to five years of experience from computer support or clinical technical areas required. Appropriate certification may be substituted for the required education.
